These funds provide federal assistance for the sole purpose of protecting and preserving jobs in the nonprofit arts sector that are threatened by the current economic downturn. The funds are available as a result of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 through the National Endowment for the Arts and the Southern Arts Federation. According to Governor Bredesen 13 Tennessee arts organizations will receive a total of $326550 in IIT funds.

He was talking to delegates of the Gulf General Investment Company (GGIC) led by its Chairman Abdullah Juma Al-Sari at the Presidency. Zardari said the government had launched a housing scheme for the poor the general public and government employees. He said the country’s investment policy aimed at encouraging foreign investment through fair treatment of both local and foreign investors. Al-Sari said the company was interested in investing in the housing sector of Pakistan particularly the pre-fabricated housing units for the displaced people and affordable housing in the major cities.
